Montgomery’s MGMWERX innovation hub opened today - a tech collaboration center its creators hope will not only foster creativity within the U.S. Air Force, but also in Alabama’s capital city.
Located at 41 Commerce Street in the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce building, MGMWERX is operated by national nonprofit DEFENSEWERX. It is a collaboration between Air University, the Air Force’s leadership-development center, as well as the City of Montgomery, Montgomery County and the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. It is based on similar programs in Tampa, Fla. and Las Vegas, Nev.
The MGMWERX collaboration space uses the Montgomery Internet Exchange for high-speed connectivity, but also hopes bringing together industry, academia and business will create non-traditional, groundbreaking strategies for the military.
