(NEWS RELEASE) – Today, Google announced that they’ll be opening a Google Operations Center (GOC) in northwestern Mississippi next year. This operations center will bring more than 350 jobs to the area and marks the company’s first entry into the state.
Earlier this year, Google announced a $13 billion investment across their U.S. offices and data centers. The establishment of this center represents the company’s commitment to continue growing its workforce across America.
“We are excited to continue growing our workforce across the southeast and are confident that Mississippi will be a great home for Google,” says Troy Dickerson, VP, Google Operations Center. “This operations center will give us the opportunity to hire amazing local talent as we expand in the region.”
Agents working out of the northwestern operations center will provide customer service to Google users by assisting with tasks ranging from answering calls to product troubleshooting, ad campaign set-up and more.
“Google’s decision to locate more than 350 jobs and their first U.S. Operations Center in Mississippi is a testament to our state’s great workers and pro-growth policies,” said Senator Roger Wicker. “I am glad to welcome one of the most innovative companies in the world to northwestern Mississippi.”
