An Atlanta digital health company is expanding its footprint in Franklin.
Sharecare Inc. has bought Franklin-based reporting and data analytics firm Visualize Health, according to a news release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Visualize is the second Franklin-based health care company that Sharecare has bought since 2016, when it bought the Total Population Health Service division of Healthways — now known as Tivity Health — for $25 million.
Visualize’s 12-person staffwill work out of Sharecare’s Franklin Health Data Services and Population Health campus, which it acquired in the Healthways deal, according to the release. Sharecare employs approximately 250 people in Franklin and 2,300 worldwide. Visualize CEO Kenneth Persaud will remain with the company.
"We … have spent the last five years at Visualize Health focused on not only improving the health of populations, reducing unsustainable health care spending and enhancing each individual's health care experience, but also empowering providers with the tools they need to provide quality care," Persaud said in the release. "By joining Sharecare — from its scale to the breadth and depth of its end-to-end platform — we are poised to provide even more value to providers across the country, while exponentially expanding our reach and ability to innovate."
Visualize’s platform integrates with electronic medical records and practice management systems to find gaps in care and incomplete documentation, according to the release. Visualize will become a part of Sharecare’s medical record management business that assists health systems with functions such as billing compliance and risk adjustment.
